United We Stand For Pakistan

At least seven million people are still without shelter in Pakistan nearly three months after catastrophic floods devastated huge parts of the country, the United Nations said on Tuesday. And with over twenty million people affected by the floods, still not enough is being done.

I’ve been to a lot of charity events over the past few months and I am really proud of everyone for doing their part to raise awareness for the flood relief efforts, but just want to take this opportunity to remind people not to forget what’s going on in Pakistan. It may not be featured in headline news anymore, but with U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon calling the floods “the worst natural disaster the United Nations has responded to in its 65-year history”, please do not stop showing your support in whatever way you can. Even a small thing can make a great difference.

I think this video filmed at the Monarch Hotel, Dubai in September for the “Charity Suhoor in Aid of Pakistan under supervision of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Charity Foundation” does a great job in highlighting the plight of the millions of people affected by this disaster. Its also great to see friends like Tamara AlGabbani and Kiana Kavoosi featured in it 🙂

I also want to say a HUGE thank you to HouseofGlamo for the amazing T-shirts they have produced to raise awareness for this cause. All t-shirts are available directly from their website so get ordering! Cute, fashionable and for a great cause!
