Music Mondays: Rihanna

It’s the song most frequently played on my iPod this week. Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been?” is the song that gets me off my butt dancing in a club every single week and the accompanying video for the song is one of RiRi’s most energetic and theatrical to date!

Fashion Overdose with Maison Rana and B.Beautiful

It’s funny when people start to question what it is I do. Am I a blogger? Am I an event planner? Am I a writer? Am I a PR consultant? Truth be told I am all of the above and much more. No two days in my life are ever the same and that’s what keeps me motivated. One day I maybe writing a press release for one client and the next organising a fashion show for another. It’s this variety that I love!

Carine Roitfeld “The Client”

The Walk of Shame

This clever little video courtesy of Harvey Nichols has me giggling like a school girl, because how many times have us girls been caught doing the walk of shame? I think the most cringe-worthy encounter I had doing it this earlier this year was after a decadent night at Tramp with the girls. We left the club to go to a friends house to have breakfast. When we later returned to get our cars, we had to walk across the route of a charity marathon! Yes a bloody marathon! The entire route was lined with cheery supporters and camera crews, so the looks we got that morning were epic as you can only imagine. And no. Dolce doesn’t look great at 10.30 on a Sunday morning!

Harvey Nichols advises you to avoid the “Walk of Shame” this holiday season. I agree, it is not sexy at all!

Share your #walkofshame stories here and with me on Twitter. Tis the season to be jolly after all :)

Video: Dior Shoes Fall 2011

Creamfields 2011

When my partner in crime asked me a few months ago if I wanted to go to Creamfields this year I was in two minds. You see I’m not a festive girl. I never have been. Concerts yes. Festivals no. I don’t really do camping, unless its in the desert in Dubai and there’s usually a five-star hotel close by if I get the chills and want some of my worldly comforts. So did I want to go to Creamfields? With a lineup that this year included David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Swedish House Mafia and Pryda, I knew I’d be a fool and regret it until my dying day if I didn’t say yes. So I did. And the rest as they say is history!

So the day of reckoning finally arrived and I had my usual dilemma – what do I wear? I’ve never been to a festival before so I had no idea. And with the weather in the UK having a mind of its own, I opted for jeans and kept my shorts handy in case the sun decided to show its face. I also popped on my sparkliest UGG boots, a gift from my friend Zainab, which I absolutely adore.

Sun came out, shorts came on and after a 4 hour drive from London, Goldie and our friend, the talented singer, Danielle Senior and I, finally arrived in Daresbury, near Liverpool. Now in hindsight I should have listened to the stewardess in the car park when she said my boots were too gorgeous for Creamfields. But putting my fashion-foot forward I decided that I would persevere no matter what came my way and headed into the venue. Oh Seher! Listen to the nice lady in the future!! I think my face says it all!

That was my boots, one minute into the arena! One minute! I couldn’t turn back as I didn’t even bring a different pair of boots with me. Queue a massive *face palm!* As I started googling, dry cleaners for UGGs on my Blackberry, Golchehr decided it was time to stop worrying and have some fun. It was after all the reason we were up there!

Not to do things by half, I’d also brought my Dior messenger bag with me! Yes I do festivals in couture too it seems! But to be honest, I didn’t care one bit about the mud after about 15 minutes in it. I was lucky enough not to fall face first into it unlike Dani. Nor did I fall on my butt like Goldie which left me with tears in my eyes from laughter!

Do you know any other three girls who go for a manicure before a festival!?

One thing I have to say about the atmosphere at Creamfields is that is was unlike anything I have any experienced before. 50,000 people all have a good time and enjoying the music. We met these ‘tigers’ in the Swedish House Mafia tent!

As the sun started to set, we headed over to the North Stage for Afrojack’s set. We were joined by gorgeous bride-to-be, Aleks and some other friends who braved camping the entire weekend for Aleks’ hen-weekend! I have MAJOR respect for them and their solar shower!

Highlight of the entire day – Afrojack! There is nothing quite like experiencing an Afrojack set outdoors with THAT many people. And he’s actually very cute!

Adele vs. Afrojack at Creamfields = EPIC!!

For more videos, head over to my YouTube Channel. There’s plenty to keep you amused and for those of you who know me well, I bet you’ve never seen me in that light!

I just want to thank Goldie for driving us up there and back. She’s my super-trooper and has been my rock. Couldn’t love you more if I tried baby! Here’s looking forward to Creamfields in Abu Dhabi in December!!

p.s. If you’re wondering about my UGG boots, I’ve had them professionally cleaned and they are back to brand-spanking new. All shiny and bling once again! Yay!
