There is something about Lana Del Rey. The girl exudes a certain “je nais se quoi” that is hard to put my finger on. But one thing is for sure – I absolutely LOVE her!
This week Lana took on the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival red carpet in a stunning Alberta Ferretti gown.
How gorgeous does she look? And WOW to that hair!! I’m off to contemplate dying my hair now so I’ll leave you with some Lana…
It’s the song most frequently played on my iPod this week. Rihanna’s “Where Have You Been?” is the song that gets me off my butt dancing in a club every single week and the accompanying video for the song is one of RiRi’s most energetic and theatrical to date!
You all probably know that I am the poster child for #411 Saturdays at People by Crystal with The Real Flava. I haven’t missed a night since I moved back to Dubai permanently at the beginning of the year, just because it is my favourite night out of the week. The music is always on point, the crowd is always amazing and it’s a great chance to be reunited with the crew.
So imagine my surprise as I danced my socks off this weekend only to turn around and see Ne-Yo partying on our table. Yes! The one and only Ne-Yo! Having seen him at Atelier Live last month brought back some incredible memories and truly cemented what an amazing performer he is live.
Ne-Yo was in town for a private event, but thanks to DJ Neptune he stopped by People by Crystal for my friend DJ Say-G’s birthday. This incredible weekend long shindig involved yachts, clubs and a trip to Blue Marlin Ibiza-UAE that I will share with you all soon, but until then, this week’s dose of “Music Mondays” is dedicated to Ne-Yo and his latest song with Calvin Harris that I just cannot get out of my mind.
It’s our weekly reunion – the one night of the week where my friends and I all get together to dance the night away on what was voted TimeOut Dubai’s “Best Urban Night”.
411 brought to you by The Real Flava at People by Crystal is the best night in the city with Dubai’s finest DJ Bliss and Mr Shef Codes bringing you the hottest beats to keep you dancing ’til you drop!
The best part about living in Dubai is the awesome live performances we are treated to on a regular basis and Thursday night was no exception. The girls and I donned our favourite dancing shoes and started our night by heading to Cavalli Club and Lounge for Flo Rida’s performance. Continue reading →
The saying goes, “The show must go on” and what a show it was. As the music world mourns the loss of one of the greatest voices in history with the sudden death of Whitney Houston on Saturday, it was a night of triumph for British singer Adele who swooped SIX awards! Continue reading →
It’s Monday and that means that as some of you sit on your desk today wondering where on Earth the weekend went, you may be in need of a little musical interlude. And who better than David Guetta to get you looking forward to the weekend again! Continue reading →
There’s nothing like starting the new year off with some decent music and for a while now I have been a fan of the ever-so-talented Boyce Avenue. The 3 brothers that comprise Boyce Avenue are incredibly popular on YouTube with their acoustic covers of some of the best songs from the world’s most popular recording artists. I mean with over 300 million views for their videos, you know what they have is incredibly special.
Boyz II Men covered by Boyce Avenue. Love.
Catch Boyce Avenue on their UK tour with the delicious One Direction this January. I will openly admit that I love One Direction and that cutie Zayn Malik makes me wish I was 10 years younger!
So there you have it – a double dose of music for you this week! A beautiful acoustic rendition of an RnB classic and a dose of pop!
What were you doing on Saturday morning? If you weren’t watching the live stream of Swedish House Mafia at Madison Square Gardens, I have to ask, why the hell not!? I am such a music junkie and was literally kicking myself for not taking the opportunity to go to NYC to take part in what will go down in history as one of the best nights in the world-famous arena. But thankfully for the live stream, I didn’t miss out completely. Continue reading →
