Carine Roitfeld “The Client”

Take a look at Carine Roitfeld as you’ve never seen her before. She is one of the most famous fashion editors in the world, but she switched places as a Couture Client for W Magazine. This is a must see!

Who else can get away with telling Karl Lagerfeld that his models are a bit fat!? Lol

I love coming across designers whilst I’m aimlessly wandering cyberspace and today’s discovery is one that I am so happy I stumbled upon. Pavoni is an exciting new “Prêt à Couture” line that caters to women with an inspired sense of taste, an appreciation for superior fabrics, impeccable craftsmanship, and incomparable design. Dakota and Elle Fanning for W Magazine

Two of Hollywood most famous siblings, Elle and Dakota Fanning, look absolutely breathtaking for the cover and accompanying pictorial in December’s issue of W Magazine. Wearing the finest couture, like the stunning Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dresses seen above, this is by far one of my favourite features this year. Continue reading

Chanel: Une Promenade

It was so incredibly beautiful that I visited 3 times. Chanel at Harrods was one of the most beautifully curated exhibits I have attended in years and after many weeks, I’ve finally got round to sharing these gorgeous pictures with you.  Continue reading

Style of the Week: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger looks simply breathtaking in a stunning gown from Elie Saab’s Couture Collection for 2011. Stepping out on the red carpet at ‘The Ides of March’ movie premiere at the 68th Annual Venice Film Festival, Diane lets the dress do all the talking by keeping accessories to a minimum and keeping her makeup clean and simple. Love this!

Celebs love Marchesa

You always remember the first time you fell in love. For me, my love affair with Marchesa began when I saw Jennifer Lopez in the gown above at the 2007 Golden Globe awards. Her sari-style black with gold embroidered trim gown made my heart ache for a similar dress, to the point where I actually had to get my tailor to make me a dress just like it.

Since then, Marchesa dresses and gowns have graced many a red carpet and been seen on countless celebrities at film premieres.

Elie Saab Couture 2011

Everyone who knows me knows that I am a sucker for a couture gown. I honestly feel there should be more occasions to wear couture, although not to just pop down to the shops for a pint of milk and a loaf of bread – Yes I did this after a wedding once in Dubai. The dress was Cavalli and I looked hysterically funny running down the aisles in my gown and heels on the hunt for a pint of semi-skimmed milk!

Elie Saab’s couture collections always take feminine elegance to new heights and the Fall 2011 show was no exception. Sticking to delicate tones of ivory, bronze and gray, Saab’s gowns were adorned with Swarovski crystals and sequins which truly made the dramatic silhouettes and plunging necklines sparkle. Adding lace-works to the runway in the form of flirty skirts and dresses; the collection contained wearable options to offset the sumptuous glamour. Now I just need more excuses to wear couture!

My Marchesa Love

Out of all the dresses I have come across, there’s always one that sticks in my mind. Recently, it’s been the silk-organza pleated dress from Marchesa that I tried on in Harrods a few months ago.

This Marchesa dress is strapless, has pleated embellishment at bodice, a softly structured internal bodice, asymmetric ruffles at bodice, a tiered ruffled skirt, a concealed zip fastening at back and is fully lined. It is absolutely exquisite!

Browsing on Net-A-Porter earlier I came across the dress in a gorgeous bronze colour. To say that I have fallen in love all over again would be an understatement.

The knife-pleated bronze silk-organza dress with dazzling crystal embellishment is a true show-stopper. *Sigh* I’m off to dream about it now.

Bisous xoxo

Cannes: Red Carpet Fashion

We’ve been spoilt for choice with celebs on the red carpet at the 64th Annual Cannes Film Festival. I have to admit that every day I swoon over the couture gowns by the world’s leading designers, but I love nothing more than seeing them on celebrities. Do they do them justice? Take a look and see.
