Video: Dior Shoes Fall 2011

According to Christian Dior, “You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet.” And who am I to argue with such a creative genius?! Continue reading
Creamfields 2011
When my partner in crime asked me a few months ago if I wanted to go to Creamfields this year I was in two minds. You see I’m not a festive girl. I never have been. Concerts yes. Festivals no. I don’t really do camping, unless its in the desert in Dubai and there’s usually a five-star hotel close by if I get the chills and want some of my worldly comforts. So did I want to go to Creamfields? With a lineup that this year included David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Swedish House Mafia and Pryda, I knew I’d be a fool and regret it until my dying day if I didn’t say yes. So I did. And the rest as they say is history!
So the day of reckoning finally arrived and I had my usual dilemma – what do I wear? I’ve never been to a festival before so I had no idea. And with the weather in the UK having a mind of its own, I opted for jeans and kept my shorts handy in case the sun decided to show its face. I also popped on my sparkliest UGG boots, a gift from my friend Zainab, which I absolutely adore.
Sun came out, shorts came on and after a 4 hour drive from London, Goldie and our friend, the talented singer, Danielle Senior and I, finally arrived in Daresbury, near Liverpool. Now in hindsight I should have listened to the stewardess in the car park when she said my boots were too gorgeous for Creamfields. But putting my fashion-foot forward I decided that I would persevere no matter what came my way and headed into the venue. Oh Seher! Listen to the nice lady in the future!! I think my face says it all!
That was my boots, one minute into the arena! One minute! I couldn’t turn back as I didn’t even bring a different pair of boots with me. Queue a massive *face palm!* As I started googling, dry cleaners for UGGs on my Blackberry, Golchehr decided it was time to stop worrying and have some fun. It was after all the reason we were up there!
Not to do things by half, I’d also brought my Dior messenger bag with me! Yes I do festivals in couture too it seems! But to be honest, I didn’t care one bit about the mud after about 15 minutes in it. I was lucky enough not to fall face first into it unlike Dani. Nor did I fall on my butt like Goldie which left me with tears in my eyes from laughter!
Do you know any other three girls who go for a manicure before a festival!?
One thing I have to say about the atmosphere at Creamfields is that is was unlike anything I have any experienced before. 50,000 people all have a good time and enjoying the music. We met these ‘tigers’ in the Swedish House Mafia tent!
As the sun started to set, we headed over to the North Stage for Afrojack’s set. We were joined by gorgeous bride-to-be, Aleks and some other friends who braved camping the entire weekend for Aleks’ hen-weekend! I have MAJOR respect for them and their solar shower!
Highlight of the entire day – Afrojack! There is nothing quite like experiencing an Afrojack set outdoors with THAT many people. And he’s actually very cute!
Adele vs. Afrojack at Creamfields = EPIC!!
For more videos, head over to my YouTube Channel. There’s plenty to keep you amused and for those of you who know me well, I bet you’ve never seen me in that light!
I just want to thank Goldie for driving us up there and back. She’s my super-trooper and has been my rock. Couldn’t love you more if I tried baby! Here’s looking forward to Creamfields in Abu Dhabi in December!!
p.s. If you’re wondering about my UGG boots, I’ve had them professionally cleaned and they are back to brand-spanking new. All shiny and bling once again! Yay!
J’Adore Dior: The New Film
So last night saw the unveiling of the highly anticipated new film from Dior starting Charlize Theron for the J’adore fragrance. Shot by Jean-Jacques Annaud and photographed by Patrick Demarchelier, the actress is joined on-screen with one rather memorable screen icon.
I’m a Dior Addict addict, but even I have to admit, this is so classy it makes my head spin.
Check out the full range of products from the J’adore collection here.
An Eye on a Bag: Miss Dior
Like many girls, I dream of handbags. I have a collection that makes my mum nauseous most of the time, but I can’t get enough. I remember I once saved up all summer for just one handbag – a limited edition Christian Dior Saddle Bag. I was absolutely in love with it. That is, until my handbag curse kicked in and it broke on Eid a few years back just as I was walking into a club. Bad karma? Who knows!? I just remember standing dumbstruck with my friends thinking I’d gone into a state of shock. Well to be honest I had and even the memory now makes me terribly upset.
Nevertheless, I haven’t given up with adding to my handbag collection, although I don’t buy as many now as I did once upon a few years ago. But I may of just had a change of heart and its all down to the people at Christian Dior. The “Miss Dior” bag makes my heart hurt! This is some serious arm candy!
Available in quilted ‘cannage’ lambskin, crocodile and a fuchsia python that I just have to have, this is THE bag of the season!
I won’t lie. It isn’t cheap. But it is an investment! (Please note that this is the official line I will be using with my mother!)
Available in Dior boutiques worldwide now.
Dior’s Blue Tie Collection
Dior’s latest “Blue Tie” collection for Fall has gotten me in the mood for some seriously sexy smokey eye makeup and an urge to hot foot it to the nearest club to dance until my feet hurt. Introducing two new shades of Nail Vernis in Blue Denim and Tuxedo, as well as eye palettes and evening essentials, this is the collection I can see myself using all the way through til New Years! Bring on the party!
Available at all Dior Beauty concessions now.
Style Crush: Rachel Bilson
Who remembers tuning in weekly to watch “The O.C”? I was obsessed with the show! Every Sunday I’d tune into Channel 4 for my weekly dose of drama from California and I remember even then having a style crush on Summer Roberts, aka Rachel Bilson.
Rachel has described herself as having a “vintage” sense of style and notes Kate Moss and Diane Keaton as her inspirations.
Rachel is a HUGE fan of Chanel (well who isn’t!?) and can regularly be spotted sitting Front Row at Paris Fashion Week
Rachel wears from left to right: Burberry, Roland Mouret, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Salvatore Ferragamo
Described as a fashion junkie, Rachel graces the red carpet with poise and grace and her signature California beach hairstyle.
Rachel’s street style is also amazing. She has been snapped numerous times donning black sunglasses whilst wearing the hottest trends.
Rachel wears from left to right: 3.1 Phillip Lim cardigan with Citizens of Humanity, Vanessa Bruno, Temperley London, Burberry and Brian Reyes
Worthy of a style crush I think!
Look Book: Christian Dior A/W 2011

The Dior website explains: “Dior’s Fall ready-to-wear collection takes its inspiration from the legendary love affair between Mrs. Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII. English romanticism is channeled into Balmoral fringed tweeds and candy-coloured tartans with Prince of Wales checks. Ultimate luxury and expertise create evening glamour in elegant draped gowns and head to toe sequins to ensure that every head is turned.”
Last week I featured a video of Christian Dior’s Fall 2011 collection. My love affair for everything Dior began many years ago when I got my first job in Harrods and saved up my entire month’s salary for one Dior bag! Well another love affair has started to develop for me and the Lady Dior bag! Must have one soon!!
